What The Bible Says About Bankruptcy
Individuals facing financial difficulty often feel alone and helpless.  However, laws to protect those drowning in debt have existed since the time of Moses.  This is what the Old Testament teachs us about bankruptcy:

“At the end of every seven-year period you shall have a relaxation of debts, which shall be observed as follows.  Every creditor shall relax his claim on what he has loaned his neighbor; he must not press his neighbor, his kinsman, because a relaxation in honor of the Lord has been proclaimed.”  Deuteronomy 15

This is similar to what the Bankruptcy Code provides today:

“A discharge in a case under this title operates as an injunction against the commencement or continuation of an action, the employment of process, or an act, to collect, recover or offset any such debt as a personal liability of the debtor, whether or not discharge of such debt is waived". Bankruptcy Code Section 524(a)(2).

You are not alone.  Bankruptcy is right guaranteed to all of us under Article I, Section 8 of the United States Constitution.  Relief is but a phone call away.
